Brand session for a therapist in Atlanta GA

Jess is one of my favorite clients to shoot. She has been getting her brand photos done every year or two for as long as she's been building her practice as a therapist. But she's my favorite because not only is she a great therapist, she's also my wife. I get to see firsthand how much she pours into her work with clients, and it's always a good day when it's time to update her photos.
Her last set of photos came during a season when she'd cut her hair really short. Since then she'd grown it back out, and it was time for something that actually reflected how she looks and feels now. Going into this session, our goal was simple: simple, classic, and fun. We wanted her photos to feel approachable and warm, while still giving her a polished, professional presence to work with.

This one came together a little differently than most. The "Strategy Call" happened over the course of a few conversations at home. The goal was to highlight the sides of her that make her such a good fit for her clients: approachable, warm, genuinely fun to be around, while still giving her imagery with enough polish to use across her website and professional profiles.
We landed on three outfits to cover that range. A brown textured top became her hero image outfit, the one that leads with confidence and warmth. A cream cardigan over a white top gave us a softer, more classic secondary look. And a blue and white dress rounded things out with something a little more fun and expressive for the lighter shots in the gallery.

We kept the setup simple on purpose. I brought in my blue paper backdrop and set up two lights right in our living room, no studio rental, no extra logistics, just a clean, controlled space that let us focus entirely on Jess.
She moved through all three outfits with total ease, which made sense since being in front of the camera isn't new territory for her at this point. The brown top gave us strong, confident headshots. The cream cardigan softened things up for a more classic, approachable feel. And the blue and white dress let us have some fun with movement and expression, which came through in some of my favorite shots from the whole session.

Jess loved the photos, and she's already looking forward to putting them to work as she moves toward launching her own practice. Getting to update her brand imagery at this stage feels like more than just new headshots, it's a small but meaningful part of a much bigger next chapter for her.
