When Kim, the founder of Steady Hope, reached out for a branding session, we knew this wasn’t just about getting a few good headshots. As a therapist and business owner, Kim wanted images that captured more than her face—she wanted to communicate presence. Calm. Trust. Empowerment.
This project was about telling a story.
Kim’s practice, Steady Hope, offers exactly what the name suggests: a grounded, compassionate space where clients can feel seen, heard, and supported. She wanted that essence to come through in every image—whether it was for her website, social media, or printed materials.
Her goal was to look professional, yes—but also approachable. She wanted people to scroll through her feed or land on her website and feel a sense of warmth, calm, and confidence in who she is.
We started, as we often do, by building a mood board together. This gave us a chance to visually map out the direction of the session and make sure we were aligned on tone and style. We explored words like steady, inviting, and trusted to guide the look and feel.
Next, we moved into wardrobe planning and shot list creation. Every outfit was chosen intentionally—soft colors, comfortable textures, and layers that reflected her therapeutic presence. From there, we built out a list of images we wanted to capture, including lifestyle shots, desk scenes, and even a mock session with a “client” to reflect her in-session work.
All of this prep made the actual session flow effortlessly. When everyone is on the same page ahead of time, the energy during the shoot stays focused and relaxed—which is exactly what we want.
We shot on location at Kim’s office, which was the perfect backdrop—clean, welcoming, and full of thoughtful details that speak to her personality and approach.
Throughout the session, we captured a range of images:
Each scene was crafted to reflect how Kim shows up: calm, capable, and deeply supportive.
One of the best things Kim shared afterward was how at ease she felt during the session. Because we had laid the groundwork together beforehand, she didn’t feel the pressure to “perform” in front of the camera. Instead, she could focus on just being herself—and that authenticity came through in every image.
These photos now serve as the visual voice of Steady Hope. They help potential clients feel connected to Kim before they ever meet her in person.
